New CD In the Works From Ray Reach

New CD In the Works From Ray Reach

Hello!

I am working hard on a new CD which I am titling "Duets".  I hope to complete the CD this year.  So far, I have recorded and mixed two songs:

1.  On January 6, 2016, I recorded my arrangement of "It Could Happen To You," accompanied by bassist Lynn Seaton (Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas and former bassist with many high profile jazz musicians such as Jeff Hamilton) and drummer Michael Waldrop (Professor of Jazz Studies at Eastern Washington University).  We recorded this song at Falk Audio Productions while we were all attending the Jazz Education Network Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

2.  On January 28, 2016, I recorded my arrangement of "The Masquerade Is Over" at Bates Brothers Recording in Hueytown, Alabama.  Musicians on this track were:  guitarist Howard Paul (CEO of Benedetto Guitars, Inc in Savannah, Georgia), bassist Chris Wendle and drummer John Nuckols.

Both of the above songs were remixed at Bates Brothers Recording on February 11, 2016.

On March 6, 2016, a third session will take place at Wildwood Recording in Frankiln, Tennessee (near Nashville).  Musicians fro this session will include:

Trumpeter Jim Williamson (founder of the Nashville Jazz Orchestra,
Saxophonist Blue Lou Marini (Blood, Sweat and Tears, Saturday Night Live Band, James Taylor Band, etc.),
Saxophonist Jeff Coffin (of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and the Dave Matthews Band),
Trombonist Roy Agee,
Drummer Danny Gottlieb,
Percussionist Beth Gottlieb,
Bassist Alison Prestwood.

In addition, I have quite a number of other high-profile jazz musicians who have agreed to participate in the project, including:

Trombonist Tom Bones Malone (Blood, Sweat and Tears, Saturday Night Live Band, Gil Evans Orchestra)
Pianist Dan Haerle - retired jazz studies professor at the University of North Texas,
